Welcome to our online "Library Catalogue Search Engine"

BACKGROUND

We are in midst of major “project-in-progress” to computerize our Library indexing system to allow “key word” searching. Resources included in the “LibraryThing Search Bar” (shown further below) currently represent only about 32%( or 830 of 2500 plus) of items input. We are continually adding items as time permits.

INTERIM additional “Searching Aid”

The link below is a copy of our current Index, in Google Sheets format. It serves to provide a listing of “ALL” resources, until such time as the major project to computerize our library is complete. Once you open the file , at the bottom of the main page click on sheet headings (e.g. 213, 220, BIO, etc) and it will take you to a listing of all Library resources within a given category alphabetically first by author surname and then alphabetically by title, within. There are 32 categories so you will need to scroll across (by arrow) between the 3 pages on this spreadsheet to access them all. This listing will be updated periodically as new items are catalogued. This index has no electronic search capability and the user must visually scan to search for items.

INSTRUCTIONS (for “LibraryThing SEARCH BAR” (below)

If a resource has been catalogued under the searcher’s chosen search word(s), the result will display a listing of all resources in our library on that subject, along with a picture of the item cover and brief synopsis about it. Click on the underlined title of the item (e.g. name of book), which takes you to a more detailed page on it. If nothing comes up, try a search under an alternate similar word. You can also click on any book cover in the scrolling banner to see information about that book.

Remember to visit our “self-serve library” in person. A Binder with a paper copy of the ALPHA INDEX BY CATEGORY is available. We are always ready to assist in any way, especially before and after church services or activities. Any feedback on suggested improvements for the On-Line Library project is welcomed.
